Chris is the President of the Leadership Institute of Seattle (LIOS), an independent college offering a Master of Science in Leadership, Management and Organization Development. LIOS is an in-person education program with six courses per year, each culminating in a one-week experiential residency, where students are evaluated by demonstrating their competency in the skills and theories being taught.
Chris's history includes both international and domestic consulting, as well as 8 years of internal experience. He helps organizations succeed by aligning to measurable goals and involving people in profound and appropriate ways to achieve those goals and increase morale.
His unique strategic engagement methods help leaders connect their whole organization to overcome obstacles previously thought unattainable.
While working internally, Chris helped multiple Alcoa locations meet or exceed their business metrics. Now he helps leaders in diverse industries clarify challenges and implement solutions. He has held adjunct positions and has extensive international experience.
His work at Alcoa CSI led to a multitude of successful projects, including R&D and a global ERP implementation. He continues to guide organizations through culture change with a business-metric focus that gets record results by utilizing a variety of models, methods, and strategies.
Chris is grounded in applied behavioral science with an eye toward emotional intelligence (EQ). He produces unique leadership programs and trains internal OD departments in the tools needed to transform organizations.
Chris is a published author of three books. His first book, Strategic Organizational Alignment, outlines the core components needed to align any organization for success. The book also follows the journey, based on real characters, of one organization's quest to find answers and practical solutions to its core business challenges.
His recent two-volume set, Strategic Engagement: Practical Tools to Raise Morale and Increase Results, was published on October 22, 2018. In it, he outlines eight strategic engagement activities to improve productivity. All of his books are written from the perspective of a practitioner and give readers easy access to tools and mental models that make a difference.
Beyond his consulting work, Chris was President of the Board of the Pacific Northwest Organization Development Network, where he tripled membership in four years.
Currently, Chris is President and CEO of the Leadership Institute of Seattle (LIOS), a start-up independent college offering a certificate in Applied Behavioral Science, with a Master's degree pending approval from the state of Washington.
Finally, Chris was adjunct faculty for five years at Gonzaga University, prior to the restart of LIOS, where he used Strategic Organizational Alignment as one of two textbooks to teach ORGL 517: Organizational Change and Leadership in Gonzaga's online Master's in Organizational Leadership program.
