Luke Rodesiler

Luke Rodesiler, Ph.D., is professor of secondary education in the School of Education at Purdue University Fort Wayne, where he chairs the Department of Teacher Education. His work revolves around teacher education, the roles of sports and other popular cultures in the English classroom, and nontraditional forms of professional development.

A former high school English teacher and coach, Rodesiler is a teacher consultant of Red Cedar Writing Project, Michigan State University's site of the National Writing Project. He is the author of Bringing Sports Culture to the English Classroom: An Interest-Driven Approach to Literacy Instruction (Teachers College Press, 2022), a co-author of Reading the World through Sports and Young Adult Literature: Resources for the English Classroom (NCTE, 2024), and a co-editor of Developing Contemporary Literacies through Sports: A Guide for the English Classroom (NCTE, 2016). His work has appeared in various academic journals, including English Education, Journal of Adolescent & Adult Literacy, English Teaching: Practice & Critique, and English Journal.
