Carlo Longo

Carlo Longo, the “Music Maker” of SALENTO BY 5, was born in Salento in the town of Taviano in 1950. Music has always played an important role in his life. Carlo graduated in Languages and Literature of Western Europe from the University of Naples and in addition earned a degree in Philosophy at the University of Lecce. He taught English and American literature at the secondary level for 36 years. After playing the guitar and singing in several local rock and blues bands, he began writing his own songs in 1999 for his revival folk music band, Bluesalento. His new album (2016) is called “Mare Tu Salentu.”
