Jen Townsend is a studio jeweler and author. In addition to making jewelry and writing, she has taught at The Penland School of Crafts, Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, Millersville University and The Appalachian Center for Crafts, to name a few. Jen is a juried member of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen and served on the Board of Directors of the Society of North American Goldsmiths.
Townsend's work can be seen in Metalsmith magazine, "Narrative Jewelry", "Showcase: 500 Art Necklaces", "500 Gemstone Jewels" and in "Art Jewelry Today 2". She has exhibited her jewelry nationally and internationally including shows such as "Anti-War Medals: Artists Respond to War", "Hot Under the Collar" and "Shanghai Jewellery and Metalsmithing Exhibition" at Shanghai Design week. She had a two-person exhibition with Sheena Graham-George at the Orkney Museum in Scotland. Her work is also in the permanent collection of The Imperial War Museum in London, England. Jen lives and works in Pittsford, NY with her husband and four cats.
