Robert J. Day

Through God’s grace, and with two Master’s Degrees in hand, Robert’s life work is dedicated to keeping children safe and families strong. As CEO of Patrick Henry Family Services, Robert provides both inspiration and strategy to Vision 30, a ten year initiative to make Foster Care obsolete.

Robert is the author of Worst of Mothers…Best of Moms, and Desperately Healed… My Journey to Wholeness. These tell his story of a tumultuous childhood, and the arduous process of healing as an adult. Born to a teenage mother, who was herself a ward of the state, Robert survived abject poverty, neglect, and abuse; but in the end, his is a story of God’s infinite mercy, and how He uses our pasts for His purposes.

His third book, Rescuing Children…Healing Adults: A Story of One Orphan, One Orphanage, and a Dream to Make Foster Care Obsolete, is set to be released in the Spring of 2020.

Robert’s compelling story, together with his unique and timely perspective, has made him a sought-after speaker for conferences, churches, civic audiences, and beyond. In addition to his testimony, Robert loves to speak on issues of Child Welfare (The History of the Orphanage Movement, The Future without Foster Care); Understanding and Overcoming Poverty; Visionary Leadership; and The Process of Social and Organizational Change. He also appreciates any opportunity to preach from the Scriptures.
