Gene Belitski

Gene Belitski is an accomplished professional software developer with a passion for functional programming. He proudly represents the fourth consecutive generation in a family of engineers.

In his professional career Gene was a member of the core development team at Multex.com, a start-up known for bringing Internet and PDF technologies to capital markets.

The author also spent a decade with Reuters, owning the application development for the collection and production of Reuters Consensus & Detail Estimates financial data consumed by all major quantitative hedge funds.

Four years in eCommerce start-up Jet.com allowed Gene to accumulate invaluable experience of applying pragmatic functional programming (F#) in the context of modern 100% cloud-based enterprise environment and significantly advance self as a functional programming practitioner.

Currently with Walmart Labs, Gene is enjoying a hands-on development role as a Principal Software Engineer in Enterprise Search.

He lives with his family in tranquil Delaware Valley area not far from Philly. In his spare time, Gene plays with LeetCode or reads books with his two feline sidekicks – the Turkish Angora siblings Cheri and Musya.
