Paul Lamb lives in North Carolina with his wife, and has four grown children. He enjoys studying the Bible and recovering the gems of truth from the original Hebrew and Greek texts. Favorite authors are John Bunyan, C. H. Spurgeon, D. L. Moody, Andrew Murray, and A. W. Tozer. The biographies of men who have been used significantly for God’s kingdom are also greatly appreciated for the insights they provide regarding the cultivation of an intimate relationship with God.
Paul was born for a second time in the 1970’s. He experienced the call of Jesus when reading His words in John 10:16, “And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.” Although at the time he had no idea what this verse of Scripture meant, there was a clear and powerful effect on his life. He began to earnestly seek God with all his heart. A few months later, God caused him to become a new creation in Christ by the power of His Spirit.
The faithful Shepherd has led, taught, and protected Paul through the years. Most of his spiritual growth has resulted from lessons learned the hard way. His many weaknesses and mistakes were reminders that apart from Jesus we can do nothing, and targets for the enemy’s traps and snares. God gets all the credit, because the flesh is no help at all, and is opposed to the Spirit. Only the Holy Spirit gives life to these mortal bodies, and those who walk by the Spirit will not fulfill the desires of the flesh. Therefore, Paul has found that Jesus has truly become the way, the truth, and the life, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
