Luz Agudelo

Luz Agudelo grew up in the small town of Zaragoza, Colombia, where she spent countless hours in the local library writing plays for her classmates to perform. Her passion for storytelling followed her to Wilmington, NC, where, as an au-pair, she delighted in creating hand-drawn characters and stories to inspire the children in her care.

After earning her B.A. in Psychology from Florida International University (FIU) and serving with AmeriCorps, Luz wrote the early drafts of her creative work. Today, she translates her deep understanding of child development into action as a Special Education Teacher. Dedicated to further supporting children’s well-being, she is currently in graduate school pursuing a degree in School Psychology.

Luz’s books, including all the June’s series, are a reflection of her experience and her passion for supporting childhood development. They are specifically designed to give the "heart and brain" new tools for positivity and self-esteem. She lives in Doral, FL, with her cherished rescued cats.
