Scott Harris

Award-winning and bestselling author Scott Harris has spent much of his life exploring the natural world, combining his love of wildlife, photography, travel, and storytelling in a growing collection of nature books.

Harris is the author of RaptorQuest, a journey into the world of North America's birds of prey, and Why We Love Birds, scheduled for publication in April 2027. The latter brings together fifty-two voices sharing the experiences, encounters, and connections that inspire their love of birds. The book will be followed by Why We Love Owls and Why We Love Mammals, continuing his exploration of the relationships between people and the animals that fascinate us.

Harris is also working on American Safaris, a collection of wildlife adventures that takes readers across the United States in search of some of the country's most remarkable animals. Combining firsthand experiences, natural history, and wildlife photography, the book celebrates the extraordinary opportunities to encounter wildlife in the American wilderness.

Harris also hosts NaturallyScott, a podcast featuring conversations with naturalists, scientists, photographers, authors, and others who share his passion for the natural world.

Before turning his attention to nature writing, Harris established himself as a prolific Western author, publishing dozens of Western novels, numerous short-story collections, and other works of fiction and nonfiction. His popular Western series include Brock Clemons, Caz: Vigilante Hunter, and Stagecoach Willy. A lifelong admirer of Louis L'Amour, Harris continues to cherish the storytelling traditions of the American West.

Whether writing about a soaring eagle, a wandering bison, or a gunslinger riding into the sunset, Harris brings a lifelong passion for adventure, discovery, and storytelling to his work.
