Katie Mitzel, the author of The Skoki Cookbook, lives and works in the mountains of Banff National Park. Her passion for cooking is driven as much by her jaw-dropping environment as it is by her remarkable guests who make the 11km trek to come and enjoy the historic backcountry lodge and its gourmet food.
Katie has been whipping up culinary delights in this remote and rustic lodge for many years and is delighted to share a glimpse into her kitchen secrets with some of her trademark dishes, a side of history and a dash of noteworthy tidbits and a handful of gorgeous photographs.
When not at Skoki Katie can be found hiking and skiing, enjoying time with her husband and two children, or frequenting local restaurants for "research" :)
