Margaret Combs

Margaret Combs is an award-winning journalist who began her writing life as a National Public Radio reporter and education correspondent for the Boston Globe. She is a recipient of both the Associated Press Award for Arts Reporting and the United Press International Award for Best Documentary. Now residing in the Pacific Northwest, Margaret is the author of a new memoir, Hazard: A Sister's Flight from Family and a Broken Boy (to be released in March 2017), about the emotional intricacies of growing up with a brother who is severely disabled. Excerpts from her book have appeared in literary magazines, including the North American Review (NAR) and Lost Magazine, and in the anthology titled Secret Histories: Stories of Courage, Risk, and Revelation.
