Nancy Eriksson

Nancy has many years of experience of both teaching music and composition, with a particular interest in children's musical education. She believes learning should be a partnership between the child, the teacher and the parent.

Quoting her directly: "learning should be fun, particularly when you're young. It's sad to see many potential musical careers cut short through tedious rigid practice sessions, particularly at a young age. Practice should be encouraged, but time limited or the child will quickly learn to see music as something to be endured and not enjoyed. That was my whole ethos when I started writing my series of 'Chords for Kids...& Big Kids Too! beginners guides. I purposely included large clear diagrams for 36 of the most popular chord types a child is likely to encounter (in all twelve keys), as well as some helpful music theory for a parent or teacher to impart".

Nancy also has a life away from music, enjoying family, nature, theatre and art.
