Andrew Buchanan

Andrew Buchanan's work is quiet, lyrical, and thoughtful, and has an immediate appeal which speaks directly to us all. He has 5 books out, his writing has been supported by Arts Council England and has also been translated and published in Korean and Mandarin Chinese. He regularly gives readings at different venues in Hampshire, and has been inited to read at Festivals such as the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and 'SO: To Speak Festival of Words' in Southampton.

He has promoted many leading national and international poets, including a Nobel Prize nominee. As well as familiar poets such as Wendy Cope and Andrew Motion, etc, he has promoted poets such as the Nuyorican Cafe Poets - leading Black and Latino slam poets on tour from New York, Women Writers from Poland, Urdu poets performing in Urdu, Chinese writers such as Jung Chang, Benjamin Zephania, McGeogh, Henri, Mitchell and Patten, (the latter many times), John Cooper Clarke, and Patience Agbabi. However he is particularly proud to have supported many local Southampton poets in the “New Southampton Poets” collection, also available.
