Luis Almeida

Dr. Luis Camillo Almeida is an award-winning Professor of Mass Communication and Department Chair who has written numerous research articles and public commentary about the role of technology in society. Some of his pieces include "Technology is the New Pacifier," "The Dark Side of Social Media," and "The Automation Blindspot." He is the creator of the small movement @escthemachine, a call to action for global citizens to leave social media and live life to the fullest outside of cyberspace. Dr. Almeida has been featured in a number of local media outlets in the United States and enjoys making his students his priority.
