Fred began writing his first novel, The Ticket, in 2005. Completing his first draft five years later, he registered his manuscript with the U.S. Copyright Office on September 30, 2010. He then launched a quixotic quest to find a publisher, without an agent, and eventually signed a contract with Black Opal Books. Fred’s prior work, a collection of humorous excerpts from American legal cases entitled Judges Say the Darndest Things, was published in 2004. Please visit his website at www.fredshackelford.com.
