I am a Californian, raised predominately in Long Beach during WWII--attended the California Maritime Academy in Vallejo, enjoying cruises to other countries. Graduated with an Ensign's commission in the Navy, and became a naval aviator, retiring early as a Lieutenant-Commander.
After retirement, I traveled, mostly in England, France, and Greece. Lived on Syros Island in the Aegean for six months writing poetry. Returned to the US and was employed by Rockwell International as a project manager. Married. After retirement from Rockwell, I was employed as a columnist for a newspaper, writing Op/Ed stories for over two years and as a stringer for another. Found out that I really enjoyed writing and decided to try fiction.
My wife Joan and I now live in Carlsbad, California, where I joined the North County Writer'sBloc to improve my writing skills. I enjoyed working with others who were more knowledgeable about the craft than I was.
