Leland Roy (Lee) was born, raised and still lives in Minnesota with his wife, two children and their cat.

From The Author: I am so thankful for the encouragement and support of my friends and family. I wrote Godfrey Owl “We All Have Roots” a few years ago and with the help and encouragement of my wife, friends and family, I decided to find an illustrator that would bring the Godfrey Owl: We All Have Roots story to life. Jessica Danielzuk did a fantastic job illustrating this book and I look forward to working with her on future Godfrey Owl stories. This book is dedicated to the people who inspired it…our children! We hope you and your children enjoy it as much as we enjoyed writing and illustrating it.

In the first Godfrey Owl book "We All Have Roots", we follow Godfrey Owl as he teaches the young animals about trees and their roots. This rhyming story, with the friendly and bright eyed Godfrey Owl and his lovable young animal friends, is sure to catch the attention of all children - as well as their parents.

The second Godfrey Owl book "Leaves of Change" was published in late November of 2017. In this story Godfrey Owl teaches the young animals about the trees changing as well as how the change from Fall to Winter will affect each of them. I dedicated this book to our many nieces and nephews and to Jessica's daughter Laura Andi, who was born just a few weeks after Jessica finished the illustrations for Godfrey Owl: Leaves of change.

I wrote "The Christmas Cookie" after being inspired by my good friend Keith, who told me a story about something he found while cleaning the snow off of his roof years ago. I dedicated this story to my friend Keith, his wife and family and the memory of Keith's mother Phyllis.
