Patrick Cavanaugh

Patrick Cavanaugh has spent his life in the outdoors of the western U.S. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in geology from Boise State University, a Master of Science degree in economic geology from the University of Montana, is a registered Professional Geologist, and has 30 years of gold exploration experience in the western United States. Cavanaugh was responsible for minerals evaluation and management on the largest private land ownership in the western world - 8.5 million acres in total. Cavanaugh was co-founder, co-owner, and President of ECM, Inc. a private gold exploration company which owned the mining claims covering the South Pipeline and Cross Roads gold deposits in Nevada. More than 5 million ounces of gold have been produced from these ECM-owned claims and more than 3 million ounces of gold remain. Patrick and his partner sold ECM in late 2016. Cavanaugh and his wife have traveled to 27 foreign countries, hosted exchange students from Chile and Greenland, and have adopted two children from Russia. The Cavanaughs have four children and three grandchildren. Mr. Cavanaugh has completed 3 books on his familiy geneology and is currently working on a new book project in his hometown of Boise, Idaho. His interests include travel, wildlife photography, skiing, racquetball, and golf.
