James Rogers

James Rogers was born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He first became an expatriate in 1996 when he moved to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Jim has taught History, Theory of Knowledge, Law, German, French, Global Politics and IT during a career that has lasted nearly three decades. He also served as an IB History Paper 2 Examiner for several years. In his over 25 years of teaching, he has taught Canadian, American and IB curriculum. He has lived and worked in Malaysia, Ecuador, Saudi Arabia and Germany as well as his native Canada. He is the author of multiple books on international education including The Expat Teacher's Job Search Guide, which he wrote with his colleague Dr. Janice Seto and The Six Step Programme: A Practical Guide to the new IB History Internal Assessment. He is the founder of the Expat Teacher Network which aims to help international educators with everything from financial planning to travel tips. Jim divides his time between his home near Frankfurt, Germany and his holiday apartment in Berchtesgaden, in the Bavarian Alps.
