As a father, Azhar realized that he had a responsibility to
explain the basics of money management to his kids so they
wouldn't make the early financial mistakes he made in his own life. His book, Confessions of a Dad: My Kids Don’t Understand the Value of Money, does not include complex financial strategies, or get-rich quick schemes. It focuses on common sense financial and life principles aimed at young adults who want to take control of their financial lives. The book is not about making money, but rather about the values surrounding spending, saving, giving, contributing and leading a life focused on financial and time freedom.
Azhar is a proud father and husband, social entrepreneur who invests in small businesses, sports nut, teacher and business coach. He is a highly sought-after public speaker who combines his knowledge of human resources with helping young adults take control of their personal finances.
Azhar has worked as a senior Human Resources professional in South Africa and Canada, focusing on strategic planning, diversity and employee relations. He is currently Professor of Human Resources at Seneca College in Toronto.
Azhar enjoys coffee (usually accompanied by tiramisu), local bookstores and anywhere he can stick his toes in the sand.
His big loves are his family, paying it forward, and following Toronto sports teams.
Confessions of a Dad: My Kids Don’t Understand the Value of Money is available from Amazon.
