Benjamin Shute

Benjamin Shute is Assistant Professor of Music at Oklahoma Baptist University, having previously served on the faculties of Dickinson College and Cairn University. Active as a violinist on modern and period instruments, he studied at the New England Conservatory and the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg and has performed internationally as concerto soloist, chamber musician, and concertmaster of the Boston Chamber Orchestra and other ensembles. He is the author of the book "Sei Solo: Symbolum? The Theology of J. S. Bach's Solo Violin Works" and has prepared critical reconstructions of Bach's lost D-minor violin concerto (BWV 1052R) and incompletely surviving D-major Sinfonia (BWV 1045) for PRB Productions.
