Todd Cornell 康鸿熹 grew up in Colorado and spent over twenty years living inside Chinese culture — in Harbin, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, and more. He speaks fluent Mandarin, conversational Cantonese and French, and studied Chinese and Mongolian Language and Literature at Inner Mongolia University.
The languages, cultures, and philosophies of China have been his life's work and greatest fascination. You may still find him reading the Dao, the I Ching, or other Eastern texts in Chinese — now from Panamá City, where he teaches Mandarin online and writes about the spaces where cultures meet.
He is the author of The Four Seasons of Rascal (June 15, 2026), Mapping Mandarin: Pinyin and the Art of Tones, The Heart of China, and El Corazón de China.
