Raymond Carroll is a Scottish writer whose fiction explores travel, addiction, expatriate life, and self-deception. Drawing on years spent living and working abroad — including time in Thailand — his work focuses on outsiders navigating unfamiliar places and the consequences of escape.

His debut series, Only Raising Dust on the Road, is a four-part literary novel set in Thailand at the turn of the millennium. Parts One and Two are available now on Amazon; Parts Three and Four are in production and expected in 2026.

He lives in Scotland.
