Matthew Hahn MD

Matthew Hahn is a family physician and the owner of River Bend Family Medicine in Hancock, MD. He is the author of two upcoming books, Staying Alive: The Signs That You Have to See a Doctor Right Now (and the Ways to Avoid Having to See One Again) and Distracted: How Regulations Are Destroying the Practice of Medicine and Preventing True Health Care Reform.

Staying Alive is a medical survival guide that provides readers with skills to spot life-threatening symptoms and recognize medical emergencies in time. It also offers advice about preventive care and lifestyle changes to avoid medical emergencies in the future.

Distracted is about the bureaucratic changes to the health care industry that followed the passing of the Affordable Care Act and other legislation.

Hahn resides in Berkeley Springs, WV with his wife and two dogs. His pastimes include singing and performing, running, and fly fishing.

Hahn is a graduate of George Washington University Medical School and has been practicing medicine since 2000. Since then, he has been the recipient of many awards including the Maryland Family Physician of the Year Award in 2006 and a finalist for the American Family Physician of the Year Award in 2007. He is most proud, however, of earning the title of Morgan County WV's Apple Butter Festival Hog Calling Champion in 2004.
