Maria E. Stimpson, Ph.D., is an educational psychologist, university instructor of psychology and the recipient of several writing awards at local and national levels, including the Nielsen Award from the National-Society of Arts and Letters for the teleplay “A Crime of Fashion.” Additional accolades include first place honors from the Chicago Archdiocese and the NAACP ACT-SO competitions for her one-act play “Visitors from Our Proud Past”. Always working behind the scenes, she honed her writing skills in the sports department at FOX 32 Chicago, and with WGN Radio, WLIT-FM and WLUW-FM. As the youngest niece of Marvin Daniel Price (the central character in I Am A Baseball Player) and as the daughter of a locally prominent basketball coach, she is an avid sports enthusiast with secret hopes of owning her own sports franchise one day.
