Daniel J. Shevock

Daniel J. Shevock has taught music at Keystone Central School District, Pittsburgh Public Schools, Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Penn State Altoona, where he served as Emerging Musical Artist in Residence in Jazz. Growing-up in a rural Pennsylvania town and teaching in urban and rural schools helped cultivate his awareness of the importance of place, creativity, social justice, and ecological consciousness. His scholarship in music education integrates ecological literacy, place-consciousness, improvisation, history, and philosophy.
