E. Ruth Harder

Elsie Ruth Dornbusch grew up on a farm in Uvalde County Texas. She married Charles Harder (deceased, 2003) in 1957. She’s lived in Livermore, California since October 1965. She is a retired Technical Information Specialist, (1999 Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory). Achieved a BA in English, California State University, Hayward, California and a Masters in Library Science from San Jose State University in San Jose, California.

In younger years as a “stay at home” mom of two daughters and a son, she wrote magazine articles published in the Camper Coachman and The Craftsman Magazine.

Advances in Library Administration and Organization, Vol. 13, 1995, published her work, “Library Automation’s Effect on the Interior Design of California Public Libraries.”

She writes Bible–based puppet scripts performed for children at Sunday morning worship at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Livermore.

Her poem “Widow’s Window,” is published in the 2014 California Writers Club, Tri-Valley Branch anthology, Encore. A prose piece, “A Light in Every Corner” is in 2014 Word Movers, An Anthology of Creative Writings by Seniors.

Critique groups and workshops of the California Writers Club, Tri-Valley Branch help keep me motivated as I pursue my passion for writing.
