Pedro Iacobelli

Pedro Iacobelli is a historian of trans-regional connections between Latin America and the Pacific whose research primarily focuses on the cultural and political dimensions of migration, economic exchange, and diplomacy during the 20th and 19th centuries. In addition, he has a scholarly interest in contemporary Migration, Pacific Studies, and Japanese cinema. He is the Director of the Institute of History, at Universidad de los Andes, Chile, and serves in Chile´s National Agency for Research and Development (ANID) as member of the official advisory body on History. Previously, He was the Director of the Center for Asian Studies and associate professor in Contemporary History at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC).
