Joel S. Dombecki is a lifelong artist who grew up in Detroit and Northern Michigan.
He spent his childhood drawing extensively. Joel studied abroad in Sweden as a teenager, where he dove deeply into his artistic abilities. Joel later painted murals for a local coffee shop and produced art for other businesses in his home town.
Joel is a trained chef. He is a graduate of Western Culinary Institute/Le Cordon Bleu in Portland, Oregon. Joel's most memorable place that he cooked at is the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite National Park, California.
Joel is also a Licensed Massage Therapist and a Certified Reflexologist and has a deep passion for the healing arts.
Joel is a musician and plays electric bass guitar, and has played professionally for many years. His art has been used for album covers, T-shirts, and posters.
Joel also has a love of martial arts and began studying Maharlika Kuntaw as a young teen. Later he went on to study and train in the arts of Persaudaraan Setia Hati Terate, Northern Tum Pai Kajukenbo, Yang Style Tai Chi, Chen Style Tai Chi and various Qigongs.
He now lives in the Pacific Northwest were he has local art shows. He enjoys creating illustrated fairy tales and art with his wife Andrea Dombecki.
