I was diagnosed with early onset of Alzhiemers Disease and Posterior Cortical Atrophy in 2015 at 45 years old. I used to be a qualified staff nurse but had to retired because of my diagnosis, then I gave up driving. Life is precious and I have always been optimistic.
I am not one to give up and started to write short stories after my diagnosis but found writing poetry was easier for my brain to contend with. Although at first, my poems were about how I coped with my dementia, I then started writing about life, nature and other things.
I love the sea and the countryside and its a blessing I live near both. I share my house with two cats. I have a blog on Facebook, and I go out and give talks about living well with dementia. I love to walk, garden and take lots of photos.
