MD, Scott J. Kolbaba

Scott J. Kolbaba, MD is a practicing internal medicine physician whose career blends service, scholarship, and a passion for the extraordinary. A Marine Corps Reserve veteran, he graduated with honors from the University of Illinois College of Medicine and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. As of 2025, he has been repeatedly recognized as a “Top Doc” in Chicagoland by both Chicago Magazine and the Chicago Tribune.

Dr. Kolbaba’s debut work, Physicians’ Untold Stories, is an anthology of miraculous events from physicians’ lives. Based on three years of interviews with over 200 doctors, it features 26 accounts of premonitions, near-death experiences, lifesaving dreams, and other phenomena that defy scientific explanation. His next project, Clara’s Magic Garden, is a children’s book about a lonely girl who discovers transformation and healing in a hidden, mystical garden—an inspiring read for today’s post-pandemic world.

Outside medicine and writing, Dr. Kolbaba applies his “go big” ethos to life: growing championship-sized pumpkins, flying enormous kites on beach vacations with his seven children and thirteen grandchildren, and indulging in his favorite treat—Spumoni ice cream—any chance he gets.
