Kathy Wilson Florence

Kathy Wilson Florence is an Atlanta Realtor, a graphic designer, a commercial copywriter and former columnist. Her love for the written word began early with a class assignment in second grade that told the story of a day in the life of "Debbie Dime." Her first book, "You've Got a Wedgie Cha Cha Cha," is a compilation of favorite columns from the weekly "Dunwoody Crier" newspaper and includes musings of a wife, mother, daughter, sister, career woman trying to do it all. The title story deals with the mixed emotions of becoming an empty nester. But it wasn't until she took on her first novel that she found out just how much fun it was "to make stuff up." "Jaybird's Song" was more than 10 years in the making with years in between that the manuscript remained untouched. "I often expected a particular direction for my story, but Jaybird would woke me in the middle of the night with a nudge for a new chapter or a storyline that I never planned," she said. "I'm proud and humbled to present her story."
