Amanda Simoni

I was born in Trenton, Ontario before we moved to Germany, then Calgary, Alberta, then St. Catharines, Ontario, where my mother’s family lives.

I finished school in St. Catharines and began studying tourism at Niagara College in Niagara Falls. For my course’s co-op I worked in Banff, Alberta, for a summer, and I met my best friend there. I loved the area so much I spent more time working in Banff and Jasper National Parks.

After some time working in tourism, I realized it wasn’t the industry for me and I preferred to actually take trips rather than trying to fit in travel on my days off. My best friend and I travel together every few years. We once heard the saying “cover the earth before the earth covers you,” and we are doing our best. I recommend everyone travel if it’s possible. It really opens your eyes to the world around you.

I love to take pictures and I take a lot of them. I hope to someday use one of my own photographs as a book cover for one of my stories. I’m also addicted to movies and TV shows.

My biggest passion, though, has always been writing. In high school, I would write in a notebook every day while waiting for my classes to start. I have so many ideas I don’t know that I’ll have the time to write them all. Bookkeeping is my full-time job, and I write in my spare time.
