B. J. Beu

B. J. Beu served churches in the United Church of Christ for over 20 years before dedicating his ministry to spiritual direction and writing. As a worship specialist, B. J. has designed Annual Gathering worship for both the Pacific Northwest and Southern California Nevada Conferences, and was on the Worship Advisory Team for the UCC’s General Synod in 2013. As a worship writer, B. J. has co-edited The Abingdon Worship Annual with his wife, Mary J. Scifres, since 2004. He has also contributed sermons to The Abingdon Preaching Annual, and will be publishing two resources for inclusive wedding ceremonies in 2017 on Amazon.

From their Top of the World Retreat Home in Laguna Beach, California, B. J. and Mary offer spiritual retreats, leadership events, and workshops to complement Mary’s consulting work and B. J.’s spiritual direction ministry. They live with their son, Michael, when he is not studying and making films at California State University Northridge.
