T. Gates Whiteley

Gates Whiteley was born in San Antonio, TX, in 1940. His father's ancestors came from Whitehaven, Cumberland County, England, while his mother's came from County Donegal, Ireland. Trained as a lawyer, he made his living as a management consultant to the health professions. Married for over forty years, Gates has five children and has resided in San Antonio for more than sixty years. His first book, "Percy: Life as a Runaway and Hobo", is based upon stories he heard growing up from his maternal grandfather. "William" is a fictional account of the life of a cousin who, in reality, was instrumental in bringing the Edradour Distillery to world prominence. Gates's third book, "The Uncomfortables" is a humorous account of the efforts of bumbling junior devils wrestling with C. S. Lewis for control over the life of a lapsed Christian.
