Ben Amor

Ben Amor, known as Ali Ali migrated to the United States in 1968. This is his first book titled “The Urban Shepherd…Chasing the American Dream.” He was born in Tunisia, North Africa, to a poor farming family. He learned English, became a naturalized citizen, and worked as a skilled technician and computer programmer. Mr. Amor earned an Associate’s degree from San Antonio College. In 1984, after having a dream of children crying, he decided to quit his job and founded the nonprofit agency, Terra-Genesis Inc. (TGI) that provided housing services, the prevention of abandonment, abuse and neglect of children, Arts programs and many other Social Services to the community.

Ben continues to serve the community and now has written his first book to motivate others to chase and achieve the American Dream. Ben proposed to Assia Ladhari, another native of Tunisia, and eventually married her in 1994 and now he lives in San Antonio, Texas. Assia and Ben have a son, Abou Elala Ali, and Ben has a daughter from a previous marriage, Dr. Mona Lisa Kopas.

Currently, Ben is working with his friend, Robert Lopez Jr. to write a second book “Choices”. As both work with TGI to promote Self-empowerment. The people can access the website www.bthebest.org to assess themselves and participate on the Self-Empowerment Program (SEP).

This is the latest part of a re-structuring of the non-profit agency and a new vision to empower others to be successful and financially stable.
