Wayne Beemer

Hello, my name is Wayne Beemer and I was born in Manhattan, raised in Queens, and lived on Long Island for many years. A typical New York boy. That is where my wife and I raised our two daughters. In 2003, after the 9/11 attacks drove housing prices up on Long Island, it was advantageous for us to sell our home there and move out to Ohio closer to where some of my wife’s family is. My younger daughter decided to stay in New York where she finished her degree in Chemistry and still lives with a family of her own now after the birth of my grandson in 2011. My older daughter moved out to Ohio with us initially, but has moved around a bit as she expanded her career in Healthcare Administration and finished her MBA.

I have worked as a Purchasing Agent, Manager, and Director, Negotiator, Technical Writer, and have done training as well as written hundreds of job aids and technical training materials. I also owned and managed a bar and grill for many years. I have been teaching online and tutoring for the past six years. I have had licenses in Real Estate, and as a Certified Financial adviser. I tutor students and others in Math, English, Science, and Economics. I write freelance under a random pseudonym and have had articles published on major news websites. I am an avid history buff and a news junkie. I read more before breakfast than most people read in a Month.

I consider myself a “Recovering” Republican. When I lived in NY and for most of my adult life I was a registered Republican. I was a Liberal Republican and stand with “Trust Busting”, “Progressiveness”, conservation of public land and parks and the “Square Deal” of Teddy Roosevelt. The equal rights of all people and progressive expansion of Abe Lincoln. The progress and expansion of highways, seaways, and commerce of Dwight Eisenhower. Currently I consider myself as Independent and “Caucus” with the local Democrats. After the disaster that was George W Bush, I had to leave the GOP as their Extremism and Religious Right agenda no longer squares with my political beliefs. I am an active member of the 99% of Newark and Licking County Ohio. Like our founding Fathers I am a Christian Deist and Constitutionalist. I am pretty much against whatever Republicans and the Tea Party is for.

I stand with the underdog, and the people's Rights above politics, Government, Corporation, or Party. I am very Pro Choice, Pro Marriage Equality, Pro Gun Control, though I do believe in the Second Amendment and do own firearms. I am for an alternative, sustainable, and renewable energy economy, I am an economic Keynesian, Pro Recycling, Anti Pollution, I know for sure that Climate Change is happening, Pro Immigration, Pro Dream Act, Pro ERA, for prison reform, for strongly regulating banks, and I want a strong EPA. I want clean air and water. I am Pro Diplomacy and Anti War. I believe we should look at other countries who have solved problems and just do what they do. I believe in Socialized Healthcare and Investing in Public Education.

I always thirst for what I call “Old Wisdom”, knowing about things that our forefathers knew. A century ago it was fairly common to know how to grow your own food, keep a garden, preserve that food by canning, pickling, fermenting, salting, smoking, etc. I relate these things to old school farming, ranching, hunting, fishing, camping, etc. Basic survival skills that have been lost to modern generations. Making spirits is a great hobby and very rewarding in many ways. I am also an avid Numismatist and love Scripophily.
