I grew up on a council estate and learned early that life doesn’t hand out favours. I’m dyslexic, but I’ve always seen that as a bonus when it comes to creativity. Give me a blank page, and I’ll fill it with wicked ideas, dark characters and people you probably wouldn’t want to meet down a dark alley. I write gangland, and once I get started, there’s usually a body count.
