Growing up was the saddest thing that ever happened to me. I still resist that ongoing process whenever and however possible. I always wanted to be Peter Pan. Not so much the flying stuff, but the never growing up part.

With my friends in Portland, Oregon in the 1950s we explored as much as the adults in our lives would let us... ...and maybe a little bit beyond that. When I couldn't be with my two legged friends I dove into my many paged friends, the local library's myriad of tales and stories about our larger world and others too.

There's a tingle to being close to the edge of life and my twenty year USAF career brought me there occasionally during the Vietnam era. After the military, the growing technology world gave me a new edge to explore and I pursued a career in Computer Programming. Unfortunately Computer Programming grew up into Information Management, a very dull adult calling that I tired of and retired from in 2008.

By 2012, childhood called to me again, but I had to seek it on the other side of the page. And in writing I've found yet another way to put off growing up, at least for now.
