I was actually given the name Krystal Ball by my parents-yes, they did that to me. My dad is a physicist and he did his dissertation on crystals-and, there you are! I grew up in rural King George County and had my own pet goats. Somehow or other, after my daughter Ella was born in 2008-I got the crazy idea to run for Congress-never having run for anything. Had the first millennial "social media" scandal of the modern political age so I had my fifteen minutes of fame and out of that came a career in cable news-turns out I had a lot to say about our politics. I moved to NYC for five years and had the privilege of co-hosting The Cycle on MSNBC, which was an amazing and unforgettable time in my life. I am now engaged in starting a grass roots revolution in the Democratic party to have ordinary people, teachers, firefighters, nurse aides, run for US Congress. The project is called The People's House Project. I now live in Louisville, Kentucky with my husband and three children, which is even more fun than having goats.
