ASHOK PATWARI

Ashok Patwari is a pediatrician and public health researcher, with a passion for creative writing. His distinguished academic career includes serving as Professor of Pediatrics at Lady Hardinge Medical College in New Delhi, India, and as Research Professor of International Health at the Boston University School of Public Health in the United States, apart from his brief appointments with the World Health Organization in the Philippines and India.

An accomplished creative writer for the past three decades, Patwari has authored more than 150 short stories in English, Urdu, and Hindi. Inspired by his extensive travels across continents, he captures a diverse array of physical backgrounds and emotional makeups. With a subtle touch, he peels back the cosmetic layers of his characters to reveal the universal thread of humanity that connects them all. His latest collection, 'The Blind Spots', is an eclectic collection of 14 selected short stories spanning a wide range of themes, situations, and characters from around the world. 'The Blindspots' is available on Amazon Kindle in print as well as eBook.

Ashok Patwari’s debut collection of short stories in Urdu, 'Kuch Lamhey Kuch Saayey' was awarded by the Delhi Urdu Academy, India, in 2005.
