David Phillips Hansen has served in ministry for more than 40 years. His studies at the Pacific School of Religion and the Graduate Theological Union focused on ethics, economic policy, and the role of religion in society.
His book Native Americans, the Mainline Church, and the Quest for Interracial Justice uncovers theological foundations for America's anti-Indian past, and examines the church's role in healing the wounds of five centuries of oppression of indigenous peoples. He invites us to join the often difficult but always rewarding struggle to create a more just and peaceful interracial society.
He has served in both the United Church of Christ and in the Christian Church (DOC) from Saskatchewan, Canada, to Hawaii, Wisconsin, California, Oregon, Iowa, and Kansas, where he lives now with his wife Sally Duckworth Hansen.
