B.M. SIMPSON was born in rural Maine. He joined the Air Force at 18 and lived and moved across the U.S. and Europe. After retiring from the USAF, he spent many years living, working, and traveling in the Caribbean. On the islands of Anguilla, St. Kitts and Grand Cayman, he discovered a passion for island life and formed friendships second to none. After 30 years of writing poems, songs and short stories, he wrote his first novel, Island Dogs followed by Avis Humphrey, Bella Vita and The Reporter. He is also the author of several children's books in the ArtPlayStories Collection: The Children in the Shed, The Toy Box, Vermeebee Land and Jellybean.
Today Simpson lives in West Bay, in the Cayman Islands. He works and writes and goes on long beach walks with his wife. After thousands of sunsets, he can be found most evenings sitting and enjoying a cold beer as he waits and watches for the brief green flash that may or may not occur just before the sea and the sky kiss goodnight. After a decade of Caribbean life, he continues to share island stories with those who will listen, and embraces the peaceful vibe, sun, sea, and warm breezes of the islands. He is currently working on a collection of short stories for publication.
