Joe Van Rhyn

Joe grew up in Green Lake, Wisconsin. In school, Joe divided his time between sports and satisfying his creative nature by carrying the lead in a number of plays and operettas. He uses his theater experience in his writing to build memorable characters and compelling story lines.

Joe has 3 full-length novels plus 2 novellas to his literary credit. He has written scores of short stories, many of which have been published in the Henderson Writers Group's anthologies. Joe also has a contributing piece in Thomas Gnewuch's "Green Lake Memories." He wrote and published a pictorial history of his wife's family's 100 year ownership of "Clem's Bar," a tavern in Berlin, Wisconsin.

Joe considers himself a "late bloomer." Although he always had an interest in writing he didn't publish his first novel, "Born Yesterday" until 2016. "Battle Born" and "Born to Lose," two additions to the series, followed in 2017 and 2019. Joe also produced two novellas, "Life Along the Humboldt" and "The Kid's Last Fight" in that time frame.
