Andrew Goodwin

Andrew Goodwin is the Managing Director and Co-founder of National IFA Truly Independent Ltd.

His long career in Financial Services started when he graduated from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh with an Honours Degree in Actuarial Mathematics and Statistics.

Between 1995 and 2003 he worked for General Accident (now Aviva) as a Senior Financial Consultant before moving into their corporate division where he achieved advanced qualifications in Taxation & Trusts, Supervision & Sales Management and Pensions.

It was 2004 when he took the first step into self-employment advising not just his client's on investment and pensions but also recruiting and mentoring other advisers.

By 2010, he recognised the industry was changing and took the next step from sole trader self-employment to build a multi-adviser firm with a brand name that people could understand and relate to. Today, Truly Independent is a leading promoter of independent financial advice across the UK that remains both independent and accessible to everyone.

This advice knowledge and experience was only one part of his own route from work to wealth. Andrew has always been involved in property development and believes a strong work ethic, feeding early investment, is the best and most likely way to ensure multiple property ownership.
