Mark J. Price

Mark J. Price is a programming author based in Brighton, on England's south coast — close enough to London, breezy enough to survive the increasingly sweltering British summers.

He's written more than 20 programming titles for Packt since 2016, including ten editions of C# and .NET, updated every year since the language's earliest days, when he wrote Microsoft's first official C# training courses in Redmond while it was still in alpha.

Teaching is in his blood — his mother was a maths teacher, his sister a primary school teacher, his grandfather taught at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, and teachers run through his uncles and cousins too. Writing books took that instinct further: it's how he reaches far more people, in far more places, than any classroom could. His way of making a dent in the universe.

He's a former Microsoft Certified Trainer who has passed more than 80 Microsoft programming exams, taught GCSE and A-Level maths in two London secondary schools, and holds a Computer Science BSc (Hons) from the University of Bristol.

Mark is active in Packt’s Discord channels, where you can live chat with him and other readers about his books and the technologies they cover.
