Susan Kaberry came to creative writing late in life. She was inspired to write when she came across the story of the last Cathars on a trip to the Pyrenees. She has been immersed in research on Mediaeval France ever since. She took an MA Creative Writing at Manchester University, graduating in 2015. Since then she has been shortlisted for the Bath Fash fiction prize and published in their anthology. Her three novels were shortlisted for the UK Novel Writing prize and she is now hoping to publish her second book entitled The Good Shepherd and the Last Perfect, another Cathar novel very soon. A revised second edition of The Chatelaine of Montaillou will also soon be available.
