Herbert Quelle is a retired German diplomat. He served his country for almost 40 years in foreign posts as varied as Los Angeles, Pretoria/Cape Town, Havana, Warsaw, London, Baku, Boston and Chicago. He lives in Berlin and pursues writing and music as a hobby. His favorite instrument is the harmonica. He has researched extensively on the history of the Blues harp in the German-American context, and published two novels with the results, "Monika's Blues" and "Striking No False Note: Black Music Matters."
