D.S. Brown was an IT professional before spending three years in a Kansas prison. After leaving prison, he published Doing the Minimum. The memoir paints a vivid and honest picture of his experience in prison. Using his off-kilter and humorous style, he synthesized this terrible life situation into his writing debut.
D.S. Brown blames his geeky delivery on his love for comedy, sci-fi, music, art, and history. Mel Brooks, Monty Python, South Park, The Simpsons, and Kurt Vonnegut factor heavily into the way he writes and thinks about things. He always looks for the amusing angle in any situation of abject desperation.
Far from being a homebody, he enjoys the outdoors and loves to hike. He is also an avid traveler, who lived in the Netherlands for 5 years.
D.S. Brown holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Auburn University and currently works in IT. He lives in Atlanta, Georgia with his family.
