Debbie Appelman

As an elementary school teacher for 16 years working in the public school system, Debbie has two children of her own that have since gone on to college and work. Reading was a priority in her family and both of her children developed a love of books. Debbie has written her first book as a parent, a teacher and as someone who loves to share books with others. The goal of the book is to share a meaningful message for children and to incorporate resources for parents and teachers to help extend learning of the book. Her main character, Ferdinand, struggles with friendship and acceptance but meets a new friend that makes a real difference.
